Excellent article, I keep getting 'looks' from people when I tell them that I don't shoot anything specific (just starting out). I guess I really should pick a subject and stick with it.

If you want to pay a bit of a premium there are a lot of places in the United States that still stock and sell Super-8.
Some examples: B&H, Adorama, Freestyle.

My uncle donated me a wind up Regal 8mm EEPZ movie camera the other day, it's wonderful and feel so uber cool for having it. I can't find anything about it however. We also got a projector working and watched some films he had taken in the 60's, I love the flicker and the way you can see each frame. The colours were excellent!

You can get film from www.bluecinetech.co.uk , they'll do developing too or put it to disk, though there's loads of other place that sell super 8, Kodak still sell it too apparently.
Have fun with your new find!

This is a great list. If space is a problem, you don't need to take the entire roll of gaff with its large diameter cardboard tubing, just roll a meter or so on to a match-stick/cocktail-stick, or just on to itself.

I have a 100-yen coin that seems to perfectly fit most of the slots on Nikon gear, like the battery compartment for my F4. Also have a small (unused) paint brush that I take when I think I might want to give stuff a general dusting off, along with a rubber rocket blower that squishes up nice and small.

I would also always carry a few bungee cords. You have no idea how often they come in useful!

Very cool. I want to get a fish-eye lens for my D90 but have been putting it off because I want to get a really nice fast nikkor, like the new 2.8 24-70mm.

I would not put best camera on the list. It hasn't been updated in many months. It does not output in full resolution which means I cannot create any gallery ready work with the app no matter how nice the features are. I use photofx, camera+, tiltshiftgen, filmlab, hipstamatic, pictureshow, crossprocess, vint B&W, classicPAN, polarize, quadcamera, diptic, swankolab, camerabag, ps express, plasic bullet, and lo-mob. Each of these has unique features that create great results depending on your processing goals. Great post.
